Public Computer Use and Available Services

A printer/copier machine is available for patrons to photocopy, scan, and print documents from our public computers, laptop, or mobile phone. Faxing is currently unavailable.

The Library uses print management software that queues print jobs under an authenticated user. For services that require payment, patrons may use coins/bills or credit/debit card (see below for payment details). Step-by-step instructions for each service are posted at each public computer and at the payment kiosk.

Public Computer Use and Access

The system requires user authentication for public computer access and print job retrieval:

  • Sharon cardholders will use their library card number to log in to a computer. SPL cardholders who do not have their card - and do not know their library card number - will be given a Guest Pass at the Adult Services Desk.
  • Non-Sharon cardholders may request a Guest Pass at the Adult Services Desk.

User authentication offers privacy and protection of your information on a public computer. Properly logging out of your session immediately restarts the computer and erases any confidential documents and/or login credentials inadvertently left on the computer. It also ensures that your print jobs are retrievable only by you.
